Your Local Early Learning Centre shares the activity of the month… paper hats! These are great for your next child's party.
It doesn’t get any easier than these fun paper hats! Grab some old newspaper or left-over wrapping paper and you are ready to go. These paper hats are great for incorporating into games and the origami process develops key hand-eye coordination and concentration skills too.
Materials:
- A4 paper in your choice of pattern or colour
Steps:
- Fold a large sheet of paper in half horizontally to create a neat fold, pressing firmly with one hand to get a strong crease.
- Make the peak of the hat by folding the top 2 corners of the folded edge to meet at the centre, with the flaps lining up.
- To make the brim, lift up the bottom flap and fold it up. Flip the paper over, and repeat with the other flap. Carefully open the hat. Ta-dah! You should be looking at some beautiful new headwear.
