Statements
I ask all parents to please check your statements and emails each week. If your payment declines, I will email you requesting you make a bpay payment. I will send you a copy of your statement with a billing code and reference number that is your bpay code. You will need to make the payment and send a screen shot of the receipt to underwood@kal.net.au so i can make sure the amount paid is added to your statement. Bpay payments can take up to 5 business days to reach your statement. In that time another payment may be due, and your direct debit payment may be higher. If you don’t make a catch-up payment your child’s booking will be suspended and will not be able to come back to care until the amount is paid in full.
Cold & Flu
With winter approaching fast we look at children and colds and flus.
What is the ‘common cold’?
The common cold is an infection caused by a virus. Hundreds of different viruses can cause colds and they usually affect the nose, ears and throat. They are easily spread from person to person through infected droplets from the mouth and nose. They can also be passed on through coughs and sneezes.
Colds are very common. Healthy preschool children often catch at least 6 colds per year. Sometimes, after recovering from a virus kids get sick with a new and different virus, so it can seem as though they are ‘always sick’. Children are more likely to catch a cold than adults because their immune system is still developing. Most children catch fewer cold viruses as they get older.
What are the symptoms of a cold?
Colds usually cause symptoms such as:
- blocked or runny nose
- sore throat
- coughing
- sneezing
- lethargy
Less common symptoms include:
Some cold and COVID-19 symptoms are similar, If your child is unwell please keep them home so it does not spread to others. For more information regarding the differences between a cold and the flu, click here.
