Your Local Early Learning Centre shares the activity of the month… leaf rubbing art!
It’s the middle of winter and some trees are looking a little bare. This activity is a great way to teach your little ones about the change in seasons.
Materials:
- Leaves from outside
- Paper
- Crayons or pencils
Steps:
- Head outside and collects some leaves. Try and find some different shapes and sizes and make sure they’re not crunchy.
- Lay the leaves down on a flat surface. Place some forwards and some backwards so you get a variety of textures.
- Put a piece of paper over the top.
- Grab a pencil or crayon and shade over the top of the leaves. Make sure to not press too hard otherwise you might not see the veins of the leaf!
