DIY Activity of the Month: Sock Puppets

Get creative and have fun with this month’s DIY activity—making your very own sock puppets! This is a fun and easy activity to complete with your children. 

 

Materials

• Socks 

• Hot glue gun 

• Scissors 

• Craft Supplies (ideas below): 

• • Felt 

• • Wire 

• • Needle/thread 

• • Yarn 

• • Rickrack 

• • Pipe cleaners 

• • Buttons 

• • Craft poms 

• • Ribbon 

• • Googly eyes 

• • Plastic pearls 

 

Steps

1. Put the sock on your hand to see where the mouth will be (between your fingers and thumb). Mark where you want the eyes to sit with a marker. 
2. Glue on googly eyes, pompoms, or buttons for the eyes. 
3. Use hot glue to add hair (yarn), ears (felt), and other accessories. Be creative and use your imagination! 
4. Be careful with the hot glue gun and make sure an adult is there to help.
