Hello to our wonderful Underwood Early Learning Centre families!
Welcome to the September newsletter, and welcome to our new families. Spring is here and the weather is warming up, this means more water play. The taps in the sandpit and creek bed will be turned on a full time, we won’t be changing children every time they get wet. We will change them if they are wet before they go inside or home, so make sure you pack clothes for your child. The benefits of water play far outweigh the negatives. Children don’t realise it because they will be far too busy having fun, but the very essence of water play intrinsically involves scientific learning, maths, and problem-solving skills like:
- Develop Motor Skills – water play involves lots of scooping, pouring, squeezing, and filling.
- Develop Social Skills – when children play with water around a water trough they will usually be chatting to their friends, taking turns, or negotiating with their peers
- Language Development
- Learn About Maths and Science
- Stimulates Creativity and Imagination
The Kindergarten has just finished parent-teacher interviews, if you missed out please see Miss Joann and an interview time can be arranged, either in person or by phone.
