Staffing
We would like to welcome two new members to our team.
Anjali comes to us as a school-based trainee and is currently working and learning at the centre on Tuesdays. She is studying her Certificate 3.
Natasha has experience in the early childhood sector and is diploma qualified. She has taken on the position of multi-aged educator within our centre.
Please feel free to approach and introduce yourselves to our newest team members.
Community
Kenshi Candles: We are supporting disadvantaged families in our community by selling Kenshi Candles. Every candle sold provides 6 packets of pasta(24 meals) for a family in need. It is then delivered to Fareshare Kitchen in Morningside to create meals. You can find the candles on display near our sign-ins. All you need to do is use the bar code on display to go to the website and pay for your candle. Then show a staff member and they can give you the candles (please do not take the display candles).
Share the Dignity: It’s in the Bag appeal: We are again participating in Share the Dignity’s Christmas appeal-Its in the bag. Keep an eye out for our collection box in the foyer where you can place your prepacked bags. there are a number of bag types you can pack. Please follow the link for more information. It’s in the Bag (sharethedignity.org.au)
Friendly Reminders
Drop off and collection of children: Please ensure you are coming out into the yards or rooms when dropping and collecting children. All children must present to a staff member, we cannot have parents leaving them unattended at the gate to walk to their classrooms or find an educator. The same applies in the afternoons-please do not call your children from the gate. You must come in and be present to collect your children. Please note that older siblings are not permitted to collect children without a parent present unless they are 18 years of age.
Change of bookings and extra days: We have quite a full house at the moment and we have little vacancy for changes and extra days. Please understand that if you enquire about available days but do not get back to us or take up the offer straight away we cannot hold those days for you. We have recently had families who have returned change of booking forms 3-4 weeks later or the day before the new week and the spaces have not been available to accommodate the children anymore or your account has not been charged correctly. Please ensure that you return change of booking forms as soon as possible and with 2 weeks notice as per our policy.
Christmas Holiday forms: If you intend to take holidays over the Christmas New Year period please let us know ASAP. If your child is not returning in 2022 we also need your re-enrolment link completed with nd dates, please.
Re-enrolments: Thank you to everyone who has returned their re-enrolments for 2022. Confirmations will be sent out very soon.
Natures Way
Upon a nice mid-spring day,
Let’s take a look at Nature’s way.
Breathe the scent of nice fresh air,
Feel the breeze within your hair.
The grass will poke between your toes,
Smell the flowers with your nose.
Clouds form shapes within the skies,
And light will glisten from your eyes.
Hear the buzzing of the bees,
Climb the tallest willow trees.
Look across the meadow way,
And you shall see a young deer play.
Pick the daisies as they grow,
Watch a gentle cold stream flow.
Know the sounds of water splash,
Catch its glimmer in a flash.
When altogether all seems sound,
Lay yourself upon the ground.
Take a moment to inhale,
And listen to Nature tell her tale…
