Hello everyone from our Daisy Hill Early Learning Centre! Our current centre focus is on Quality Area 5. (National Quality Standards).
Relationships with Children
Good relationships early in life help children to connect with others, build positive friendships and support children to self-regulate their emotions.
Research shows relationships are central to children developing acceptance, self-esteem and higher functioning thinking skills that contribute to positive learning and life outcomes. Educators can take an active role in nurturing, supporting and promoting children’s relationships and social skills.
For relationships to be meaningful, interactions need to be warm, caring and responsive. When attention is given to building connections and maintaining them over time, children are more likely to feel a sense of security, well-being and belonging.
If you have any ideas on how we can further develop and strengthen our relationships with you and your children, please let us know.

Going to School in 2023
In hopes to create stronger bonds and pathways between the children of Daisy Hill ELC and their future schools, we want to know where your child is attending next year.
We want the transition from our Kindergarten classroom to the children’s new school to be as seamless and easy as possible. Being able to discuss with the children about this exciting new change will help to build those initial relationships.
Winter Germs
It is that time of year for fuzzy socks, warm blankies, winter PJs and …..SICKNESS. I think like most of our community we have had our fair share of winter bugs and we are hopefully on the mend. To help us with our fight against the winter sickies, please keep your child home until they are well enough to return to the centre.
We are trying our best to stop the spread of any infections within the centre by ramping up our already strict health and hygiene practices.
Things to look out for:
* Lethargy * Vomiting/ Diarrhoea *Flu-type symptoms
* High temperatures * Runny nose *General feeling of being unwell
* Any symptoms requiring the ongoing need for paracetamol
Thank you for your help
Let’s Work Together
As a parent of two, working full time, doing a degree and just…being an adult……I know how it feels to be time-poor.
On more than one occasion I have dropped my children at school with an unzipped backpack, toast in a zip lock bag and toothpaste on their sleeve. I am supported by a community of Teachers and Educators that bridge the gap for me on those crazy days.
We are more than happy to do the same for our families at Daisy Hill ELC. This is why we are here, to support you and your children.
However, The ladies are finding it difficult to change a growing number of children out of nighttime nappies, from PJs into day clothes and to be giving children their breakfast into mid-morning, brushing hair etc. We ask that the basics are done before you attend the centre.
If we could all work together & take the time to walk in each other’s shoes we can refocus. Our staff look forward to dedicating more quality time to your children at making memories and support learning.
Quick Reminder
** It is important, very important, that we know who is at our Centre at any point in time.
If there is a fire, unforeseen threat, or anything like that, we need to know every staff member and child on the premises.
This is why children MUST be signed into our service and signed out every day.
It is a QLD Government regulation that all children are required to be signed into the premises on arrival.
** Please remember to label your children’s items.
