Welcome to all the new children and families who recently started at the Centre, we hope you are settling in well. If you have any questions, please see Renae or Gayna in the office or speak with your child’s room educators. We are always happy to help!
Centre Birthday
Our Centre Birthday is next Thursday the 18th of August and we have been operating for 8 years. To celebrate this occasion, we will be having a cultural day to recognise all our staff and families who come from different cultures.
Our staff who are from cultural backgrounds will be wearing their traditional dress and performing their cultural dance for the children. If your child has a traditional dress, please feel free to dress them in this to celebrate the day.
We will be holding a morning tea between 10 and 11 am where you can come along and enjoy some birthday cake, and food from the different cultures and participate in activities with the children.
Please feel free to join us for this special occasion.
Early Childhood Educator Day
On Wednesday 7th of September, we will be celebrating Early Childhood Educators’ Day. Early Childhood Educators’ Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia’s educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the well-being and healthy development of the young children in their care. It’s a chance to say thank you to Australia’s early childhood educators on a very personal level by families, and their children. You can help us celebrate by making your favourite Educators a special thank you a card at home, making a thank you video, writing them an email with some lovely words or even just saying thank you at drop-off or pick-up time. I’m sure they would all greatly appreciate it.
Book Fair
Book fair takes place Monday 22nd August and will run through to Friday 2nd of September. The book fair will be open to view, in the foyer of the Centre, from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm daily. Every book purchased from the book fair will help us raise funds to purchase new books for the children to enjoy in their classrooms.
During our celebration of book week, we will also be having a dress-up day on Thursday 25th of August, where the children can come dressed as their favourite book characters. During book week, we would like to encourage the children to bring along one of their favourite books for their teacher to read in class at group time. This is a fun way for children to get involved in literacy and share their favourite stories with their friends.
